The Wild Hare Adventure Race
The Wild Hare Adventure Race provides a premier backwoods adventure racing experience. Using nothing but a map and a compass, racers will navigate through hours of team challenges, continuous trekking, mountain biking and canoeing.

The Wild Hare Adventure is hard. But with tough challenges, come great rewards. Find a friend or two that are up for the challenge.
When: Saturday, October 23rd, 2010
Start Times: Long course: Will be announced at pre-race meeting. Short course: 8am
What: Trail running, mountain biking (single track, paved trail, paved and gravel roads), canoeing, orienteering, team challenges.
Where: Around the Omaha landscape.
Important Dates/Times:
- Friday, October 22nd from 5pm - 8pm: Mandatory Gear Check at Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 6939 N 102 Circle, Omaha, NE 68122. You may arrive any time between 5pm and 8pm, and must have all required gear. You will not receive your map and team number until you pass the gear check.
- Friday, October 22nd 8pm: Mandatory Pre-Race meeting will be held after gear check at Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 6939 N 102 Circle, Omaha, NE 68122. Maps, important instructions and some race info will be handed out.
- Race start: Will be announced at the pre-race meeting.
Fees:
- Long Course: $85/person (before October 8th)
- Long Course: $105/person (after October 8th)
- Short Course: $55/person (before October 8th)
- Short Course: $65/person ( after October 8th)
- Registration Deadline is October 15th.
- Fee Includes: Insurance, dri-fit shirts, canoe, paddle and pfd rental, awards, prize drawing, food and drink.
- Long course awards will begin approximately 12 hours after the long course race start (tbd)
- Short course awards will happen about 4 hours after short course race start
- UTM Plotting (long course only): You will be required to read and plot UTM coordinates. Maptools is a great source for learning about UTM.
- Host Hotel: The Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 6939 N 102 Circle, Omaha, NE 68122. (402-505-8181) will be offering a reduced room rate of $89.95 plus tax. A limited block of rooms have been reserved through October 15. Just mention you are with the race to receive the rate.
- Long course teams will earn points in the CheckpointTracker racing series. You must register on CheckpointTracker before the Wild Hare Adventure Race and add this event. See CheckpointTracker.com for more details.
